Northridge, CA: ArtsNorthridge is proud to present internationally renowned and legendary PARSONS DANCE COMPANY in their long awaited Los Angeles return Saturday, April 22 at 8 p.m. at the California State University Northridge Performing Arts Center. The performance will feature Artistic Director David Parsons and nine of his full-time dancers, in commissioned works from such presenters as The American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and the Paris Opera Ballet.

Clive Barnes of the New York Post goes on to say, “The dancers are picked for their virtuosity, energy and sexiness. They attack the audience and stage like gangbusters.” “One of the most successful modern dance companies in the world!” says NBC’s Today Show.
In addition to the Saturday performance, the Parsons Dance Company is also offering a Master Class on the Cal State Northridge campus. The Company is committed to dance educationa commitment based on the same values and practices that have garnered his Company’s extraordinary success and popularity, which he hopes to share with students at the University.
The Parsons Dance Company has thrilled audiences on six continents, having given well over 1500 performances, educational and community outreach activities since their founding in 1987. The Company is in great demand internationally, and conducts extensive tours of the United States each year.
David Parsons has created over 70 works, and has also been seen on stages of the Paris Opera Ballet, American Dance Festival, Feld Ballets/NY, Nederlands Dans Theatre, English National Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Company, and BatSheva Dance Company of Israel, among many others. He has enjoyed a remarkable career as a performer, choreographer, teacher, director, and producer of dance. His work has been enthusiastically embraced by audience, presenters, and critics the world over.
Mr. Parsons was also a leading dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, where Mr. Taylor created many roles for him in works such as Arden Court, Last Look, and Roses. Companies with which he has made guest appearances include the New York City Ballet, the Berlin Opera, MOMIX, and the White Oak Dance Project. Parsons choreographed and directed the dance elements for Times Square 2000, the 24-hour festivities in Times Square celebrating the turn of the Millennium, which was viewed by billions of people all over the globe.
