Hey Partners…It’s gonna be another COWBOY CHRISTMAS

for sure when RIDERS IN THE SKY comeback to

the ole CSUN Corral

Northridge, CA: ArtsNorthridge at California State University, Northridge is once again right proud to be bringing the best of the “old West” to Northridge on Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 PM to the Performing Arts Center. Known to every Cowboy and Cowgirl and all the Little Buckaroos The Riders are going to bring everyone a Christmas they just won’t forget…the Cowboy way!

Riders In The Sky deliver pure and priceless entertainment.  The moment America's favorite cowboys step up to the microphone the magic begins, allowing listeners to leave behind the frenzied pace of today's living and lose themselves in the romantic, comical, and whimsical world of the singing cowboy.

For nearly 24 years Riders In The Sky have been making music that is harmony-laden and paints a vivid portrait of the characters and culture of the West.  The Riders In The Sky is a musical and cultural anomaly.  Riders In The Sky members Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul and Joey the Cowpolka King revere the old western acts and early Opry stars. These guys could not be further from the glitz and hype that currently grips country music.  They speak no jive when they say proudly that they are a "family act," in every responsible sense of that term.

Matter of fact, these boys aren't even country.  They're "western," in the long-gone musical sense of that term, with its acoustic musicianship, it's blending of voices in a message of big old moons, bellering heifers, and pure, pure cowboy love.  Educated as they are, the Riders understand that their musical stylings have much more to do with gene Autry and Roy Rodgers than with the herdsman of 125 years ago.

The Riders are no strangers to children's music.  Their repertoire includes the "Saddle Pals" album, and they also recorded "Harmony Ranch in conjunction with their CBS TV show, "Riders In The Sky Saturday Mornings."  In 1999 Riders brought the singing cowboy back to the big screen in a new way as they provided music for Walt Disney/Pixar's "Toy Story 2" with their rendition of "Woody's Roundup."

Ranger Doug says, "I think that kids just naturally identify with what we do: we ride horses, we go camping with friends and we solve problems in a straight-ahead way."

So if you're a fan of the old West, good comedy, stellar harmony or "mighty fine" family entertainment - or if you simply have a pulse - and you haven't heard of Riders In The Sky, you won't believe what you've been missing.  Expect the west from Riders In the Sky...it's the Cowboy Way.
