LINDA EDER,
BROADWAYÕS BRIGHTEST STAR BECOMES FIRST ARTIST IN
CSUN HISTORY TO SELLOUT MONTHS IN ADVANCE-SECOND PERFORMANCE ADDED!
Linda EderÕs story has a fairy-tale quality to it; the ease
that seems to dominate her ascension is testimony to her gifts. She has been
called Òsimply one of the most spell-binding singers of our timeÓ by the New
York Daily News. Her first true national
exposure was via ÒStar Search,Ó where she had an unprecedented 13-weeks of
success. She created the leading role of Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde, which went on a 35-city tour before opening on
Broadway in 1997. USA Today
reviewed the Broadway version of Jekyll & Hyde, describing Linda as Òa captivating presence and a
Streisand-esque singing voice that elevates everything it touches.Ó LindaÕs
memorable performance as Lucy earned her the Theatre World Award for Best
Broadway Debut as well as the Drama Desk and Outer CriticsÕ Circle Award
Nominations for Best Actress in a Musical. The last time Ms. Eder sang for
Southland audiences was in 2003 at OCPAC.
Her solo albums: ÒLINDA EDERÓ (RCA), ÒAND SO MUCH MOREÓ
(Angel), ÒITÕS TIMEÓ (Atlantic), ÒCHRISTMAS STAYS THE SAMEÓ (Atlantic), ÒGOLDÓ
(Atlantic), ÒBROADWAY MY WAYÓ (ATLANTIC) and ÒSTORYBOOK (ANGEL/EMI) have won
Linda critical and popular accolades. A DVD version of LindaÕs holiday concert,
taped live during her Bravo TV special in 2001, ÒCHRISTMAS STAYS THE SAMEÓ
(Rhino), was released this fall.
Sometime in between recording and performing across the
country, she realized a life-long dream: Linda performed three sold-out
concerts at Carnegie Hall to what The New York Times described as a Òthunderously adoring audience.Ó
Constant comparisons to Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, Celine
Dion and other great voices have catapulted Linda into an elite group of
singers and onto television and radio shows.
Please visit www.LindaEder.com for more information on the artist. Note: All programs and artists are
